The Monichino family estate is committed to producing the highest quality wines by heavy pruning and supplementary watering which increases the intensity and natural flavour of the fruit. Chat over a winetasting with the friendly staff and family, and finish with a sumptuous regional gourmet platter of local cheeses and fruit, or feel free to usethe spacious picnic grounds and BBQ facilities overlooking the vineyard.
 
Carlo Monichino immigrated from Northern Italy in 1948 and together with his wife Margaret established a vineyard and winery in Katunga in 1962. The vineyard was originally a soldier settlement block and is part of the Goulburn Murray Irrigation scheme.
 
The vineyard consists of approximately 30 hectares of low yielding vines. The soil type and climate provide the "terroir" which, together with an experienced team of winemakers, is creating premium wines of full bodied aroma and richness.
